VALENTINO LETS SHOPPERS TRY ON CLOTHING IN AUGMENTED REALITY

Technology - Luxury fashion brand Valentino is allowing shoppers to try on clothes in augmented reality thanks to a pilot launched with AR technology company Wanna (owned by Farfetch).

Using the Wanna Wear mobile application, shoppers can virtually try on upper-wear pieces from Valentino’s Urban Flows Fall 2023 collection in augmented reality. They can also try on the ValenTie from the brand’s Black Tie Fall/Winter 2023-24 collection. More HERE

 

MOTORSPORT MORE EFFECTIVE THAN BASEBALL AND ICE HOCKEY AT PROMOTING SPONSORS IN US MARKET

Sponsoring - Fans surveyed say motorsport ranks only behind football and basketball in marketing effectiveness.

  • Fans are most likely to buy a company’s products when it sponsors in motorsport

  • 62% of fans believe motorsport could not exist without sponsors

  • F1 still trails Nascar when it comes to fans’ attitudes toward sponsors

Motorsport is the third-most effective sport at promoting its sponsors, according to a study of the US market conducted by Chicago-based marketing agency REvolution. More HERE

 

META SCIENTIST YANN LECUN SAYS AI WON'T DESTROY JOBS FOREVER

Technology - One of the three "godfathers of AI" has said it won't take over the world or permanently destroy jobs.

Prof Yann LeCun said some experts' fears of AI posing a threat to humanity were "preposterously ridiculous".

Computers would become more intelligent than humans but that was many years away and "if you realise it's not safe you just don't built it," he said.

A UK government advisor recently told the BBC that some powerful artificial intelligence might need to be banned. More HERE
