TIKTOK IS REPORTEDLY TESTING A PAID, AD-FREE VERSION OF ITS APP

TikTok users might be able to pay not to see a deluge of ads in the future.

Android Authority has screenshots of TikTok prompting users to select between staying on the free version of the app with ads or upgrading to an ad-free experience. According to the screenshot, some users have the option to pay $4.99 a month to not see ads.

A TikTok spokesperson confirmed the existence of the test to Variety. They said the feature is currently being trialed in one country outside of the US but that it may not expand more widely. However, they declined to confirm details like which country the limited-scale test is running in or how much TikTok is charging. THE 2023 RYDER CUP BRINGS IN 3.7M VIEWERS TO SET NEW VIEWERSHIP RECORD FOR SKY SPORTS

SPORTS - The 2023 Ryder Cup was the most watched edition of the biennial men’s team golf competition ever on Sky Sports, with 3.7 million viewers tuning into the UK pay-TV network across the three days.

Confirmed: 

  • Ryder Cup averaged 785,000 viewers on Sky in the UK, a 38 per cent increase on the 2021 edition and 25 per cent increase on the 2018 edition

  • Number of viewers under the age of 35 increased by 14 per cent compared to 2021

  • Sky Sports’ Ryder Cup content also had over two million video views across the company’s social media channels....More HERE
